Back from CEDIA 2008
CEDIA is a consumer electronic show where custom installers and technology integraters can get a feel of the new market trends. A lot of manufacturers are present to showcase their new products and also to provide sales and technical training on what they have to offer.
There are two product categories that stood out this year… media management and 2:35 projection systems. Media management is basically a way to access multiple formats of music, movies, TV shows and photos in a centralized system with an easy to use interface.
The 2:35 projection system is comprised of a projector, a very wide screen with a proportion ratio of 1:2.35 (HDTV 16:9 has a ratio of 1:1.78) and an anamophic lense. With a system like this, you can watch widescreen movies in their original format without having black bars at the top and bottom. The visual impact of such a system is really incredible!
Pioneer has reached perfection
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to ISF calibrate a PRO-151FD (60” Elite). I am still under shock by what I have seen. This TV is as precise has it gets. Not only does it deliver outstanding black levels but primaries (red, green, blue) and secondaries (yellow, magenta, cyan) are right on par with the industry standards. Grayscale is unbelievably linear, tracking at 6500K from 10 IRE to 100 IRE within an error delta of 3.5!
This TV is for those who are very critical when it comes to color accuracy… I have not seen in my eights years of experience as a calibrator a TV that comes closer to perfection!
Congratulations to the Pioneer team.
Our team is growing
Jonathan Duquette has recently joined our team. When he is not working on installations, there is a good chance you will find him spending time in the studio. Jonathan plays guitar and is the lead singer of his band. He is well aware of the new trends in electronics and like the rest of the team, customer service is his priority.
Welcome Jonathan.
